Tandem QA Persona Switcher: privacy policy

An internal testing tool for Tandem's own staff and testers. It tidies the browser tabs the Tandem QA drawer opens on local, staging and preview copies of Tandem.

What it collects

Nothing. It collects, stores, sells and shares no personal or other data. It makes no network requests at all: no analytics, no telemetry, no server of its own. It does not use browser storage.

What it reads

The sessionStorage of Tandem tabs on local, staging and preview addresses (localhost, 127.0.0.1, staging.tandemstrategies.co, dev.tandemstrategies.co, *.tandemstrategies.dev), which the Tandem app itself wrote: which test persona a tab is signed in as and which ticket it is testing. That never leaves your browser. Production addresses are absent from the extension and refused in its code.

Remote code

None. Every script it runs is inside the package you installed.

Permissions, and why

• tabs, tabGroups: group a ticket's persona tabs, keep the persona's name in the tab title, and bring a persona's tab forward when the drawer asks.
• scripting: copy a persona tab's session storage into a tab opened from it without an opener (a link opened from the context menu), so it stays the same persona.
• Local, staging and preview addresses: where it runs.
• All sites (optional, off until you allow it on the options page): the browser takes a screenshot of the visible tab (captureVisibleTab) only with it. The screenshot goes to the Tandem feedback widget in that same tab, and only on the addresses above.
